Natalie Gartland is a recent graduate of the New Media Design & Web Development program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in Burnaby, BC. She finished the program with distinction, with a focus in Web & Graphic Design and Front End Development. She greatly enjoys Information Architecture, User Interface Design, and Project Management, and hopes to specialize in these areas in the near future.
With a family background based in the fine arts and science, drawing and painting formed a large part of Natalie's childhood. Since her teens, a camera has been close at hand with her ongoing desire to capture and document what occurs around her. Natalie's attraction to human health and function carried her through a Bachelor's degree in Science from Simon Fraser University, which in turn led to work in the private fitness industry. A lack of creative visual arts in the everyday work environment eventually drew her into the online design and communication arts.
Natalie has a passion for assisting people in realizing their goals and contributing to their success. With her newly acquired knowledge from BCIT and previous small business operations experience in management, communications, and exceptional customer service, she blends both the technical and interpersonal skills needed to bring visions to life, from paper to screen.
On the less formal side, Natalie is fascinated with colour, always trying to capture the perfect pic, a Rollers & Coquillages groupie, a seawall skater, a music fan, attracted to the sparkly, a world traveller, and in love with dim sum.
